Domestic Career 

Michael began playing cricket for Queensland during the 2010–11 season. In his first Sheffield Shield game, he took four wickets against Western Australia. He signed a full contract with Queensland in 2011. Neser became very popular in the Big Bash League, first with Brisbane Heat and later with Adelaide Strikers, where he was named the MVP in BBL|03 after taking 10 wickets.

In 2013, he played in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab. He also played for two English teams, Surrey and Glamorgan. In 2020, Neser scored his first-ever first-class century. He was also selected for Cricket Australia’s Sheffield Shield Team of the Year in 2018.

• Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) surprisingly offered Michael a contract during the 2013 IPL season. Neser was signed as a replacement for the injured Ryan Harris.
